How to Place Facebook Chat On Firefox Sidebar

Labels:

Facebook Chat is cool, at least it allows you to send instant messages to online Facebook contacts. However I’m not really a fan of the chat bar being at the bottom of the page, what if I’ve left Facebook but still wants to remain chatting with my Facebook contacts? If you are using Firefox, you can place the Facebook Chat at the sidebar.

Step 1

Look for Bookmarks on the top navigation. Select Organize Bookmarks…
facebook chat

Step 2

Click New Bookmark... tab and enter the following:
  • Name: Facebook Chat
  • Location: http://www.facebook.com/presence/popout.php
  • Check Load this bookmark in sidebar.

Step 3

Launch the Firefox sidebar, click Facebook Chat and start chatting with your Facebook contacts within Firefox.

How to Create A Welcome Page And Tabs for For Facebook Fanpage

Labels: ,

Creating a custom landing page for your Facebook group is not as difficult as you might think!

Here is how you do it:
1. Log in to your Facebook account and do a Search for TAB Press (Static FBML boxes no longer work!)
2. Click on the link "Add to My Page" & Select the page. (this is found in the bottom left hand side of the page)

TabPress Box

Now you will need to create the content for your Tabs/Welcome screen

1. Use Photo-shop or a similar application to create an image with width of 520px (the height does not matter)
2. Create a folder name FB on your server & upload the image in that folder. You can also use photobucket or an online file hosting service (you will just need a URL for your image)
3. Navigate to your fan page & click on the "Edit Page" tab below the Fan Page's Profile Image.
4. Locate your Tab application & click on Edit.
5. You can create a page for your fans and one for your "non-fans"

If you want to add a link to the image just add the following code

src ="http://yourwebsite.com/FB/imagename.jpg">

If you would like you can also use text after the image with HTML tags like h1, h2,, etc or use any other HTML you like.

6. When you are done click on save changes - navigate to your Fan Page and you will see a new tab with the title you wrote.

Now you can set your new page as the default landing page -- click on the edit page tab and locate "wall settings" -- set your default landing page to the new page you created.

Take a look at what companies like "Pizza Hut" and "Coke" are doing on their pages!

You can also get into more depth than just an image --- If you have some programming know how you can build out a miniature website within your FBML box. You can even use Dreamweaver to build out your page and then copy the code into your Facebook FBML box

How to Hack a Facebook Password

Labels:

Wondering to know how to hack a Facebook password? Well, before you can do that, it is very much necessary to understand the real ways of hacking that actually work and also those that are simply scam and do not work. So, in this post we’ll look at some of the possible ways to hack Facebook password!
Every day I get a lot of emails from people requesting me to hack Facebook passwords of their spouse, girlfriend or boyfriend so as to reveal their secret relationships (if any). Most of them are even willing to pay for the service.
However, I strongly deny any such requests since I do not provide any paid hacking service. But anyhow, I have decided to write down this post so that you can learn the tricks for yourself and implement everything at your own risk.

Big Online Companies are Increasing their security day by day

Possible Ways to Hack a Facebook Password:

With my experience of over 9 years in the field of ethical hacking and IT security, all I can tell you is that there are only two ways to successfully hack a Facebook password.

1. Keylogging – The Easiest Way!

Keylogging refers to simply recording each and every keystroke that is  typed on a specific computer’s keyboard. This is possible with the use of a small computer program called keylogger (also known as spy software). Once installed, this program will automatically load from the start-up, runs in the invisible mode and start capturing each and every keystroke that was typed on the computer.
Some keyloggers with advanced features can also capture screenshots and monitor every activity of the computer. One doesn’t need to have any special knowledge in order to install and use a keylogger. That means, anyone with a basic knowledge of computer can install and use this software with ease.

2. Phishing – The Difficult Way

The other common way to hack passwords or online accounts is via Phishing. This is the most widely used technique by many hackers to gain access to Facebook and other social networking websites. This method will make use of a fake login page (often called as spoofed web page) which will exactly resemble the original one. Say for example, a spoofed web page of Facebook looks exactly same as that of the original page. This page is actually created by the hacker and is hosted on his own server. Once the victim enters his/her password in such a fake login page, the login details are stolen away by the hacker.
Most Internet users would easily fall prey to such online phishing scams. Thus, phishing scams trick users in such a way that, they themselves give away their passwords. But phishing requires specialized knowledge and high level skills to implement. Therefore, it would not be possible for a noob user (perhaps like you) to attempt this trick. It is a punishable offense too. So, I would recommend that you stay away from phishing and make use of the keyloggers since it is the easiest and safest way to gain access to any online account.

Facebook Hacking Methods that Do Not Work!

Today, there are hundreds of scam websites out there that are waiting to rip off your pockets by making false promises. These websites claim to be the experts in the field of hacking and boast to instantly obtain any password for you. Most people fall victim to these websites and lose their hard earned money. The idea behind this post is to expose the truth behind hacking the Facebook (or any online account) so that, you can learn things for yourself and at the same time stay away from all those scam websites. The following are some of the hacking methods that actually do not work:
  1. Many scam websites claim to exploit a certain vulnerability of Facebook website as a means to crack the password. Unfortunately, there is no such vulnerability in Facebook (or any other online account) that can be exploited to crack the password. I advise you to stay away from such scam websites.
  2. There is no ready-made software program that is available to hack Facebook password except the keylogger (spy software). In fact, keyloggers are pretty generic and meant to record the keystrokes of a computer which obviously includes the password also. Keep in mind that apart from the keylogger, there is no such program that is specifically designed to gain access to Facebook account. Stay away from any website that claim to sell such program.
  3. Beware! On many websites and Internet forums, you will often see fake articles about Facebook hacking. Most of them will tell you something like this: “you need to send an email to passwordretrieve@facebook.com (or similar) along with your username and password“. Never give away your password to anyone nor send it to any email address. If you do so, you will lose your password itself in attempt to hack somebody else’s password.

I hope this post will help you avoid scams and choose the right approach to accomplish your goal.

Access Your Facebook Account with 3 Passwords

Labels:

Did you know that you can login to your Facebook account using 3 different passwords? Seems interesting isn’t it? Yep! Unlike any other online account which has only one password to access, Facebook lets you log in using 3 different variants of your password.

Only a few Facebook users are aware of this fact, but for many others, this might seem a bit surprising. Facebook accepts the following forms of your password

Access Facebook Pass in 3 Ways

1. Your Original Password

Let me explain this to you with the following example. Assume that your default Facebook password that you created during the sign-up process is:
Facebook-Password-1

2. Password with the Case Toggled

In the above password the letters ‘F’ and ‘P’ are in uppercase and the remaining are in the lowercase. If you TOGGLE the case where all the UPPERCASE characters are converted into the lowercase and vice versa, your default password “myFacebookPass” would become:
Facebook-Password-2
Now if you log in using the above toggled password, your Facebook will accept it and welcomes you! This is the first variation of your default password which is accepted by Facebook.

3. Password with the First Letter Capitalized

If the first character of your password is in the lowercase, you may just change that first letter to UPPERCASE and Facebook will again accept it and let you in. As in case of the above example where your default password is “myFacebookPass”, if you just change the first letter to UPPERCASE, your password would be “MyFacebookPass” and this should work fine as well:
Facebook-Password-3
Please note that this option will work only for the Mobile uers!

Why 3 Passwords?

Now, you all know that Facebook can be accessed using 3 different passwords. But you may be curious to know the actual reason behind it.

Well, this is definitely not because Facebook has a bug or a serious vulnerability. In fact, this is just an option provided by Facebook itself to make the sign-in process easier for the users. Here’s how:
The most common reason for the authentic logins to be rejected is when the CAPS LOCK is ON. This is where the first variation comes in handy. That means, when the CAPS LOCK is ON the case gets reversed (toggled) for your password but Facebook will accept this as well.

In case of mobile users, it is a common for the first letter of the password to get capitalized which often leads to the login failure. So, in order to tackle this issue, Facebook will also accept the password where only the first letter is capitalized.

Thus if the CAPS LOCK is accidentally enabled, the toggled password feature would still let you log in to your account!
