We have heard that Facebook Inc. has been making the framework to implement features likelistening to musicwatching movies and playing games. This would mean greater social media penetration in general.
Facebook Inc is preparing changes designed to make the site a hub for listening to music, watching movies and playing videogames,” the ‘Wall Street Journal’ reported while citing a source.
Facebook had recently let it be known that they will be letting music services like  Spotify AB andRdio Inc. to publish to user’s walls. This may be the first move as they try to roll-out support the music services. Lately, many companies like Google and Amazon, have showcased their own cloud music players. Apple is soon getting into this game with its iCloud offering.
Facebook, already has a lot of people who use it to network, discuss and meet new people. With the addition of music, video and games, the social network will be complete in terms of discovering and sharing content. It is still not clear if Facebook’s music service will use third party providers or your own library like Google Music Service. Users will need to login to Facebook to use these services. The new arrangement will not mean that Facebook is going to partner with another company.
As for renting movies, Warner Brothers Movie Studios has already been renting out movies on Facebook for 30 to 40 Facebook credits. Each credit is worth 10 cents.  If the new features are finalized, they may be announced at Facebook’s f8 developer’s conference in late September.
We are eagerly waiting for more news about this development. Check back with us for more news on this front.
